The Legends of the Seven Golden Vampires: BLEND

 

After achieving over 120k streams on digital streaming platforms, 7.4 million plays on Tiktok and receiving airplay from 6 Music, Radio X, Absolute Radio, and hundreds of local and internet radio stations, eclectic Hertfordshire production trio ‘Legends of the Seven Golden Vampires’ are now due to release their new single BLEND

 

Born out of the burning crucible of the DIY Mashup scene of the early 00's, Legends of the Seven Golden Vampires is a production trio (Nick Foster, Luke Barratt), Shakeel Esoof and Ilse Van Der Linden on vocals)  that takes the spirit of that time to meld genres, blow minds and move feet. Inspired by sounds that drove the many music movements across the decades and molding them together with kaleidoscopic abandon to create unique and fresh tracks. Sonic plunderbusing their way through the UK Psychedelic Rock and Northern Soul movements of the '60's through Funk, Disco and New Wave Postpunk of the 70's and 80's, through to the French Touch, Chicago House, Detroit Techno, and Electro shooting towards the UK Rave and Jungle scenes of the 90's.

 

The band also draws inspiration from the 1974 cult horror film The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires, channeling the film’s ambition of molding genres into something that shouldn’t work but somehow does.

 

BLEND

 

Set to be released on 25/04/2025 BLEND is a departure from their psychedelic soul, indie pop debut LP, bringing a more ambient dance feel to the proceedings.

As Luke explains, 'for the new E.P. we've leaned more into the 90's ambient and  trip hop sounds, taking influence from the likes of Orbital and Massive Attack."
